I’m Kimberlee Le Ceve. I’m here to share a glimpse into my colourful journey with you. So grab a coffee, and let’s dive into the wonderful world of art and imagination together.

My story began under the South African sun, where I danced alongside wild monkeys, exchanged secret glances with snakes, and shared my childhood with a cast of characters that included the likes of spiders and even man-eating sharks. And guess what? Amidst all these curious companions, I found my happy place on the sandy shores of Durban. Oh, those golden beaches were my playground, where sandcastles met rolling waves, and the world was my oyster.

Fast-forward to ’94, and I found myself trading those wild landscapes for the tranquil beauty of New Zealand. No more predators lurking around, just a new chapter of life unfolding against the backdrop of serene hills and gentle ocean breezes.

My artistic journey started young, as I wielded pencils and brushes to create my own little universes. But you know what? Art school didn’t quite make it to my itinerary. Instead, I embarked on adventures in Graphic Design and Computer Science. While they were great, I felt like something was still missing – a way to channel all the energy and creativity bubbling up inside me.

And then, like a blast of inspiration, I returned to drawing and painting in my late twenties. It was like reuniting with an old friend, and I started building a collection of kindred spirits who cherished my creations as much as I did.

But the real magic happened when I became a mom to two incredible daughters. Their infectious laughter and sheer joy amidst the splatter of paint, the clinking of brushes, and the shimmer of glitter made me realise that creating art was my calling, my true north.

Nature, wildlife, people, pets, motorbikes… they’re all my muse. The colours, textures, and emotion they bring to life fuel my brushstrokes, giving wings to my imagination. I’m like a contemporary storyteller, and my canvas is my stage where tales come alive.

Acrylic, ink, resin – they’re my partners in crime, the mediums that help me breathe life into my visions.
